This is going to be a really tough ask with us having 3 games in 5 days ( the only team in the Prem ?).
I still see many believe the problems of us not winning most games is Moyes selections. They definitely have not helped in a couple of games recently ( teh choice of Noble was the main issue and he got it wrong which he did admit) and all since Antonio and then Arfur got crocked but the underlying problem is more, for me, the threadbare, unbalanced squad he inherited and has to work with. TBH without his addition of Bowen, Soucek and this season Coufal we would be in the Championship most likely.
So assuming no Antonio to start and him persisting with the ineffective Haller, it will be the same game plan to contain at all costs and hope to get something later in the game with a few subs. I love this idea of "playing on the front foot" but IMHO we do not really have the ability to do that even with everyone fit. We do not have the players ( mobility, technique and pace etc) to really take the game to most teams ( again IMO) . We were effective on the counter even with Antonio and Arfur playing.
Anyway, minimum we look for is effort and commitment. If we show that I can accept a defeat which the odds would point to. But you never know.

I disagree. It's why we beat Leeds away, and they're one of the fittest teams in the league. the busy schedule argument is the same for every club, and the 'contain/make subs' policy is destined to fail if go behind in any game

All about opinions of course but I still felt Leeds brought the game to us especially first half and dominated possession ( as they do with every team ). IIRC Bielsa made a couple of subs of Harrison and Alioski that helped us more than them and we did start to get more possession as the game progressed but they still had what 60 - 70% overall and it was IMO still us setting up to contain first and hit on the counter.
Anyway, lets just hope we can get some kind of result. will be interesting to see if Fredericks ( he with the 50p pieces in the toes of his boots ) retains his spot ahead of Coufal to counter Richarlison's pace. I expect Coufal to return as he did a great job on Zaha but you never know with the Moyesiah. Dawson versus Balbuena or Oggy and then Lanzini versus Benrahma to start would be the other main call I suppose?

Alf - I fully expect Coufal to be back today v- I expect he was just being rested the other day, or maybe putting Fredericks in the shop window. I thought Lanzini looked a real lightweight against Southampton and would expect Benrahma to start. But if he goes for 3 at the back they could both be out.

I don't care about possession stats. you said we tried to contain leeds yet we had more shots on goal, and more corners. possession means fuck all. playing noble is like having a red card before kick off

Playing Noble is something we can agree on. He should not be playing nowadays. As someone else said the other day he could become like Moncur if we are not careful. Run on, clobber someone etc, but with today's non-contact rules and refs he will indeed likely get a red.
